Great campground! It's a bit more than we normally pay for camping ($47), but felt that all of the available amenities would be worth it. This price also included having an upgraded site with a deck (site #46)and really nice shade trees. My only complaint would be that we were unable to hook up to the sewer because the sewer access on our site was about 40 feet from our camper. (Bring long hoses!) However, the nice deck and privacy of having a end site made up for any inconvenience of having to dump at the end of our stay. Every employee we met was really nice and accommodated our every request. I really liked the escort to our site to ensure we got settled. Another note...be careful entering the campground! It's in a very dangerous curve with no sight. There should really be a 3-way stop sign at this entrance due to it's dangerous layout. My kids also loved the "Jumping Pillow"! Also, tons of stuff to do in the Sweetwater/Athens/Vonore area! We will definitely be back!!

Pros: Beautiful pastoral setting, nearby to Fall Creek Falls State Park, very clean restrooms/baths. Wi-Fi very good at campsites. Very friendly Owners/Employees. Full hookups. Cons: Sites are very close together, pastures with smelly cows surround property, about 4 trees in entire campground/needs more shade, sites slightly unlevel. Mountain Glen is a new RV Park which has lots of potential! My positives greatly outweigh my negatives...and we certainly enjoyed ourselves! Mountain Glen is close enough to FCF so can still participate in all of the FCF activities without having to be crammed into the FCF campground with all of those people and small amounts of bathhouses/restrooms.

Excellent Campground!! The recent renovations made this be one of the nicest campgrounds we have ever visited. Beautiful campsites, excellent bathhouses and friendly staff make this an A++ Campground!!! Everyone needs to visit and support the Alabama State Parks!

I'm not exactly sure how to rate this campground. On one hand, it had a special ambiance to it that took us back in time to the 1960's. It it a quiet, family-oriented campground with all of the basic necessities. The staff was very helpful and friendly, and the Caverns and Homestead exhibit were an added bonus. On the other hand, we felt like the campground was in disrepair. I'm sure being a small family run campground, that funds are tight to do improvements. However, they could increase their business by 200 percent if they would invest some money into it's appearance. My negative comments would include unlevel sites which are too close to each other, and the need to upgrade the bathhouse. My positive comments would include the beautiful scenery, nice pool and location with area attractions.

This is one of our favorite campgrounds! Everything was just perfect. The campground was beautiful and offered many activities. The scenery was excellent. The sites are rather large and private. We were in site 60 which was a pull-through at the top of the hill. The only negative comment I could make would be the lack of opportunity to reserve a specific campsite. We usually book months in advance to secure a suitable campsite for our camper. If you are a late arrival, you sometimes get left with bad sites. We will definitely be back!

Our family really enjoyed this campground! Pros: Close proximity to attractions; level sites; riverfront sites; nice employees; clean restrooms/bathhouses; pool; fishing in river; trash pickup daily; playground. Cons: Very close campsites; no fire rings or grills at sites; cost to access Wi-Fi.

I loved this campground and would give it a 10 except for a few reasons: 1 - The Campground Hosts were not very accomodating and didn't seem to like people. And don't even think of stopping near the gate house..."you had better park in the check in area...and leave your dog in your car!". 2 - The Trains were very, very loud. I don't usually mind hearing trains, but even across the lake...your camper would vibrate. 3 - Those darn ants! There were ants everywhere. They invaded our camper and about run us out at 2:00 in the morning. (I will note that this is not the fault of the Campground) Overall...great campground, however, with some small improvements could be fantastic!!

We enjoyed our visit to this campground. The scenery was beautiful and the campground was great. We camped in Area A which has been recently redone. It has larger sites than the other areas, but only has full hookups at the Handicapped sites. The roads and sites are very tight and are not big rig friendly. Most sites are also somewhat un-level. Area D has full hookups, but is nothing special. I don't think these can be reserved. Area A has the most activity, but has few hookups and tight sites. I would not even enter Area C if I were you. Area E is very tight with no scenery. Area B has numerous full hookup campsites, but small sites. There is no cell phone service at the campground. The bathrooms were clean, but can only accommodate a few campers at a time since they have been made handicap accessible. Overall, this was one of our favorite campgrounds. The Falls are beautiful, the hiking trails are great, and the swimming holes and swinging bridges make it a must see location.

This has been one of our most enjoyable camping trips yet! The campground was very nice with a variety of sites. Pros - Family oriented, campsites and bathhouses very clean, hiking trails, Liberty Bell Pool nearby, Trading Post in campground...although seldom open, fishing available, nature programs conducted, pets allowed. Cons - Unable to reserve specific campsites, no sewer hookups. The best thing was having Warm Springs and Callaway Gardens nearby to entertain the kids!

We loved this campground! However, you can't go wrong with a Georgia State Park! The campground was small, but very tidy and well organized. There are numerous trails around the lake, and a less well known trail to the Marble Mine. There is a lake to fish in, but no swimming allowed. A campground host lives in the middle of the campground, so you feel safe and things were never rowdy. There is fishing, trails and a playground for the kids. Visit in the Fall...the leaves are beautiful! Happy Camping!

We love this campground since it is close to our home. Most of the sites have a water view, and are very enclosed by trees. The fishing is good...when there is more water in the lake. The restrooms/bathhouse are alway clean, but could use an update. There is a guardhouse to monitor entrances..and the local sheriff makes drive thrus to monitor everything. It's also very nice to be able to reserve your favorite spot...which so many campgrounds don't allow. I would definite recommend Woodring Campground. Also, if you like to hike...they have opened the Amadahy Trail just down the road from the campground. It is mostly lakeside hiking and you see a lot of nature. Happy Camping!

Beautiful campground! We stayed in the West Rim Campground. The sites were very private, level, and had a wonderful pad setup with fire ring, lantern holder, grill and railings. Even though on top of a mountain, the drive was not too bad. The only thing that would enhance this campground would be sewer hookups and cable...but you can't have it all. A pool would also be nice. The scenery from the canyon rim was spectacular. However, don't believe anyone that says the hike to the falls are not strenuous! My family is in pretty good shape, but we quit counting steps at around 700...and it was hard. It's not a very kid-friendly campground, but my wife and I would have been perfectly content enjoying nature by the campfire! Happy Camping!

Overall, its a pretty good campground. We are spoiled to staying at Georgia State Parks, so a private campground was a bit of a change for us. The sites were only about 6 feet from each other, and there are numerous permanent residents in the campground. They have even put metal covers over them, built decks and landscaped around them. It seemed a bit like a trailer park. However, the scenery is beautiful! It is very kid friendly, having a pool, a lake to fish in, and a putt putt course. There is also a busy road running through the middle of the campground...which is hazardous to kids and adults. Happy Camping!

The campground is located in the beautiful Hiawassee Valley. Even though is has the lake going for it, I could not recommend this campground. We stayed in the campground area across the street from the fairgrounds, and were very disappointed in everything. The sites were very unlevel and close together. There were many permanent residents that made us feel like we were in a trailer park. It was pretty rowdy at times and everyone had big dogs. The lake patrol were bullies to fishers most of the time. We may have just had a bad experience there, but will not be returning. Happy Camping!

This is an okay place to stay if you are having your travel trailer serviced. The RV Dealership offers a free stay there upon your purchase of an RV...so our visit was free. Even though they have a few amenities such as a pool, the noise from the drag strip and interstate are a bit bothersome! Happy Camping!
